Using your individual skills on a Careerbreaker Volunteer Work Placement
Careerbreaker offers the opportunity to use your work skills and professionalism in a completely different environment, allowing you to gain alternative experience and giving you the opportunity to really contribute to the progress of the developing world by skill sharing. For those interested in trying something new there are some opportunities where you can get involved, regardless of your previous experience.
Volunteer Work Placements usually last a minimum of two weeks and last up to a year or more. The key areas we’re involved in are medicine and healthcare, teaching, social care, conservation and journalism but we can often arrange volunteer work placements in other sectors including, I.T., Business, Veterinary, Marketing, Construction and Engineering, if we don’t currently advertise a placement to suit you please contact us and we’ll do all we can to arrange it on your behalf.
The majority of Volunteer Work Placements are situated in towns and cities. Each of our Volunteer Work Placement destinations has Careerbreaker house where you will live with other Work Placement Volunteers and Sports Placement Volunteers during your placement, which is managed by a live-in UK crew member, who can assist you with any general or work-based issues you may have.
The application process will include providing details of you career to date so we can ensure we match you with best volunteer work placement for you and the host organisation. Remember it is very feasible to combine this work placement with an adventurous travel or sightseeing trip and /or with any of our volunteer community or sports projects.
